Assistant Site Manager – Civil Engineering

Overview
We are seeking a proactive Assistant Site Manager to assist in overseeing Civil Engineering projects in Sunderland, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety on-site, adhering to Health and Safety standards and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety and quality inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with directly employed teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, assist in the preparation of valuations, and provide regular updates to the Site Manager.
- Proactively resolve day-to-day on-site issues.
- Help oversee and coordinate Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks up to DPC.
- Review and prepare site reports, designs, and drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Conduct take-offs and order materials to ensure timely delivery.
- Represent Caddick Civil Engineering at site meetings, ensuring client satisfaction and project alignment.
- Utilize IT tools (Word, Excel, and project management software) to manage reports, schedules, and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in civil engineering site management, with expertise in Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety in the construction environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in project scheduling tools.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
- Valid SSSTS certification, First Aid at Work qualification, and a relevant CSCS card.
