We are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to join our client on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract , with a clear focus on reviewing our supplier base, identifying commercial opportunities and delivering measurable cost savings. Role: Head of Procurement Location: Remote UK (applicants must be in the UK with valid working permit) Salary : Up to £100k The role will involve undertaking a detailed review of spend across multiple material categories, identifying key suppliers, areas of dependency and opportunities for supplier consolidation. You will be responsible for: Analysing current spend, supplier dependency and purchasing categories to identify cost-saving and consolidation opportunities . Reviewing existing supplier contracts, pricing and commercial terms, identifying gaps and upcoming renewal risks. Benchmarking pricing and reviewing previous negotiations and realised savings to identify further opportunities. Leading supplier negotiations to deliver savings through price reductions, improved payment terms, volume leverage, specification rationalisation and supplier consolidation . Reviewing supplier governance, performance, risk and business continuity arrangements. Establishing a procurement pipeline and negotiation tracker , prioritising opportunities based on potential value, spend and ease of delivery. Developing a 12-month procurement roadmap , setting out key initiatives, timelines, savings targets and ownership. Tracking and reporting on key procurement KPIs, including cost savings, cost avoidance, savings realised, spend under contract, preferred supplier usage and supplier consolidation . Improving contract coverage and ensuring appropriate supplier agreements, renewals and risk assessments are in place. The successful candidate will be a commercially focused and analytical procurement professional , with strong supplier negotiation skills and the ability to quickly assess opportunities, build relationships and deliver tangible financial results.
