We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist technical consultancy providing bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems. Due to growth within our Central Government business, we are interested in speaking with an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer.
Role Location:
You can work from any of our 6 offices in the UK (including Bristol, Cheltenham & London) or from home; the role will require bi-weekly visits to London-based customers.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will design, build, and evolve our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters; familiarity with Docker and Helm is essential
- Developing automated tools for building, deployment, monitoring, testing, and maintenance of infrastructure and applications
- Creating policies for security, compliance, and disaster recovery
- Optimizing infrastructure for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency
- Monitoring and improving infrastructure and application performance
- Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues
- Managing and mentoring junior DevOps engineers
The Ideal Candidate:
Strong experience with AWS services, automation tools, and DevOps practices is required. The candidate should be passionate about technology, enjoy problem-solving, and have a collaborative mindset. Additional skills include:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Background in configuration management and automation
- Proficiency with containers and orchestration tools such as Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience designing monitoring and logging solutions like CloudWatch, ELK, and Grafana
- Basic programming skills in at least one language
- Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines
Security Clearance: Due to industry requirements, the candidate must obtain high-level security clearance, which requires being a British citizen and having lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years.
