The Digital Forensic Laboratory Support Analyst provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Digital Forensic Laboratory across all service delivery teams. This role involves a wide range of administrative tasks which contribute to the effective and successful delivery of services in line with client agreed deadlines. The Digital Forensic Laboratory Support Analyst is organised, detail orientated, and process driven, working in compliance with CACI's accredited ISO/IEC 17025 processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of investigation services performing a range of processes such as communicating with clients, and compiling management information, documentation and physical test items for receipt into the Laboratory or return to client.
  • Assist in the operation of CACI's digital forensic proficiency testing services, performing a range of processes relating to the preparation and operation of proficiency test schemes including delivery/collection activities, participant communication and portal administration.
  • Case File Management: prepare, update, and maintain customer case records, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with QMS and customer requirements.
  • Data Entry and Record Keeping: input and manage data on internal systems including the case management system and quality management system, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Liaison and Communication: act as an initial point of contact for the Digital Forensic Laboratory, communicating with customers, handling routine inquiries and forwarding relevant information.
  • Document Handling: process and file a wide range of documentation and physical test items, maintaining confidentiality and chain-of-custody protocols at all times.
  • Compliance and Auditing: ensure all administrative practices comply with CACI policies, data protection laws, and audit requirements.
  • Administrative support across all Digital Forensic Laboratory services: provide general office support including minute-taking, scheduling meetings, collection and delivery tasks, supporting the resolution of maintenance issues, managing correspondence, purchasing and maintaining supplies.
  • Work in compliance with departmental and organisational policies and standards - ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 17043, ISO/IEC 17025, Forensic Science Regulators Code of Practice and ILAC G19, supporting the Quality Manager with the continual improvement of the quality management system (QMS).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably within a law enforcement or legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience of working within a digital forensic laboratory or policing environment is desirable.
  • Full current UK / European driving license and willingness or experience of travelling for work purposes.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly where required to meet departmental and organisational need and demand.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects at any given time.

Role Demands:

  • Applicants should be aware that this role may involve the exposure to documentation containing information of an extremely distressing or offensive nature; handling sensitive information with discretion and accuracy whilst supporting Laboratory operations.
  • Normal demands associated within an office environment; ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by phone, email and face to face.
  • Requirement for occasional travel involving some overnight stays.
  • Ability to cope working under pressure and time constraints in this uniquely challenging environment.
  • Agility and coordination in handling equipment and evidence as required. May be required to lift a variety of computer items and sit/stand for extended periods of time.
