The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

This role is a DevOps Engineer within IIG’s National Security Team, working on a large, complex programme with a bespoke software solution.

  • Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure and private clouds.
  • Deploy, scale and manage Kubernetes clusters.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Helm.
  • Develop and implement automated tools and processes for building, deployment, monitoring, testing and maintenance of infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for security, compliance and disaster recovery.
  • Optimise infrastructure for high availability, fault tolerance and cost efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor and improve infrastructure and application performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
  • Manage and mentor junior DevOps engineers.

The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated, multi‑tasker with strong team‑player skills. You will have:

  • Experience in a DevOps‐focused role and a track record of delivering secure, scalable software.
  • Proficiency with cloud technologies and building highly available shared solutions.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Vault and related tooling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, GitLab or Jenkins).
  • Excellent communication and leadership for working with high‑level stakeholders.
  • Exposure to serverless, Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana and Artifactory/Nexus.

Due to the nature of the sector, this role prefers applicants holding high‑level security clearance. To qualify you must be a British passport holder and have lived permanently in the UK for the last five years.

This position is office based 4–5 days per week from Cheltenham, Bristol or Manchester.
