Perioperative Services
Our Perioperative Services are situated in a state of the art and expanding facility with 24 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre, three endoscopy suites, and two Cardiac Cath Labs. As part of our growth, we are adding four additional cutting-edge operating theatres and an additional Cath lab commencing construction in July 2025 for completion early 2026.
Equipped with advanced technology, our department supports over 1800 operations each month. We focus on patient-centred care through our day-of-surgery admission points, three Post-Anaesthetic Care Units, and two discharge lounges and are committed to providing the highest standard of care in a collaborative and innovative environment.
How you will make an impact
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is looking to further develop their well-established nursing skills with a keen interest in transitioning to the specialty area of Anaesthetics and the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit.
You will have the unique opportunity to make advancements in your nursing career in a highly supportive transition program within a speciality environment providing excellent care to our surgical patients within the framework of the Cabrini Mission and Values.
Your participation in our Transition to speciality Program will run over the course of 12 months with a supported rotation through both Anaesthetics and Recovery.
To gain adequate exposure and allow for consolidation of new skills this position will require full time commitment for the entire 12 months of the program.
About You
You will leverage your clinical expertise and skills to ensure exceptional patient care and contribute to the efficient operation of our department. You will require:
Current AHPRA registration
Victorian Working with Children Check
Preferred: Previous exposure to Perioperative nursing or surgical ward nursing experience
Ability to independently initiate self-directed learning
Commitment to quality patient care and outcomes
Excellent communication skills and a passion for patient advocacy
Enthusiasm for team work
