How you will make an impact:
- Cabrini Health Pharmacy provides a range of services to patients, including clinical pharmacy, dispensing, procurement, sterile and cytotoxic manufacturing, and clinical trial management.
- As a Pharmacy Technician at Cabrini, you will have the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment with on-the-job training provided by our experienced staff.
- This role will allow you to build a career in pharmacy and offer the opportunity to study for a relevant technical certificate e.g. Cert III Health Services / Pharmacy Support down the track.
- The work hours are rostered across a 7-day work week, but predominantly on weekdays.
What You’ll Be doing:
- Providing assistance and support to the Pharmacists in the preparation, labelling and dispensing of medications and sterile preparations.
- Maintaining sterile and non-sterile compounding environments according to regulatory standards.
- Ensuring documentation and labelling are completed accurately.
- Performing medication expiry date checking and rotation of stock and assisting with inventory management.
- Performing ward dispensing and charging based on Omnicell activity reports.
- Reconciling scripts owing and assisting with preparation of H.I.C claims, follow up Medicare and concession numbers, assist with PBS online.
- Managing drug returns from wards/units.
- Receipting, invoicing and crediting of pharmacy stock.
- Attending to general cleanliness and tidiness of the department including cleaning, decontaminating sterile cabinets and microbiological testing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous pharmacy or compounding experience and/or previous experience in a hospital setting advantageous, however, training will be provided.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain excellent levels of customer service.
- Well developed computer skills.
- A positive attitude and great work ethic with a team focus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Sound prioritising and organisation skills.
