Personal Care Assistant – Palliative and Supportive Care

We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Palliative and Supportive Care team at Cabrini Malvern. In this role, you’ll work closely with our nursing staff to provide safe, respectful, and high-quality care to patients and their families during a critical time in their health journey.

About the Role

As a PCA, you will support the delivery of clinical care under the supervision of registered nurses. This role requires flexibility, with shifts scheduled across mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personal care and support as directed by the registered nurse

Monitor and report changes in patient condition

Assist with maintaining a clean and comfortable patient environment

Respond to patient and family enquiries, escalating as appropriate

Uphold patient privacy, dignity, and cultural sensitivities

About You

You’re a team player with a passion for patient care and a strong sense of empathy.

You will also have:

A qualification in Health Services Assistance or equivalent (as outlined in the position description)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team

Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive situations

Previous experience in an acute hospital setting (highly regarded)
