Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) will support nursing teams in acute inpatient specialties, assisting patients with personal care, mobility, observation and ward operations.
About the Role
- Assist with personal care including hygiene, dressing, feeding and toileting
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers and manual handling
- Assist with patient observation and routine care
- Maintain a safe and organised ward environment
- Support patient flow and ward operations
- Provide compassionate, patient‑centred care within multidisciplinary teams
About You
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, Individual Support or equivalent
- Current Nursing Student (Year 2 or above) with completed acute clinical placement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across a variety of clinical areas
- Understanding of patient dignity, confidentiality and safe care principles
- Availability to work a 24/7 roster
- Acute hospital experience
- Experience across multiple specialties
- Knowledge of infection prevention and manual handling
- Experience using electronic hospital systems
