The Role
The Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) uses the latest technology to reduce manual handling. Instruments are processed to high standards for each procedure.
Instrument Technicians work in a 24/7 rotating roster, reprocessing reusable medical devices for theatre procedures, rotating through all phases of reprocessing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Steam and Sterrad sterilizers
- Processing equipment loans from external vendors
- Cleaning, setting up, and wrapping instrument trays
- Using electronic tracking systems
- Conducting equipment testing
- Surgical set ups & transfer of sterile items to departments
About You
You should have recent proven experience as an Instrument Technician (minimum 12 months post-certificate) and a commitment to high-quality service. You must have:
- Certificate III in Health – Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterilization standards
- High customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Knowledge of OH&S standards
