About Allied Health services
Allied Health at Cabrini is a rapidly expanding and highly integrated service comprising twelve professional disciplines. The department plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the organisation. Cabrini Allied Health offers a wide range of opportunities, including senior consultant and leadership roles, clinical stream positions, junior staff rotation and support programs, professional development and teaching opportunities, and the cultivation of strong external and university partnerships.
What the role involves:
We are looking for a dynamic and qualified Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant (AHA), with experience working within inpatient rehabilitation, to be part of our physiotherapy team at Brighton. This role involves working with physiotherapists to deliver group and individual therapy sessions. This is a permanent part-time role, working 9 days per fortnight (0.89FTE). Working days are Monday to Friday in the first week, followed by Tuesday to Friday in the second week, 0830-1630.
- Facilitate safe and appropriate completion of a prescribed exercise program, in a group and individual setting, as outlined by the treating physiotherapist.
- Ensure the safe and timely transport of patients to their therapy session in the gym.
- Escalate patient concerns to treating physiotherapist/rehab team leader.
- Ensure good communication, effective relationships and teamwork between peers and other clinical staff and services.
- Support with allied health assistant placements and supervision of AHA students as required.
- Assist with administrative duties as outlined by the supervising physiotherapist or team leader.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be organised, flexible and work well within a team. You will have:
- Relevant Allied Health Assistant qualifications.
- Experience in exercise delivery & managing groups of patients in a rehabilitation setting is advantageous.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team within a structured rehabilitation environment.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a strong client customer service focus.
- Well-developed time management skills.
