The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 ÂŁ per year.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday / All year round. This role will involve working annualised hours. Working days will be variable, Monday to Sunday and including evenings and weekend shifts in order to fulfil the Centre's programme of events. Rota's will be planned and agreed with the Centre Director in advance of each term.

The Technical Manager at the Tacchi‐Morris Arts Centre plays a pivotal role in delivering high‐quality technical support across a diverse programme of performances, events, and educational productions. As a key member of this vibrant, community‐focused venue, the postholder will lead on all aspects of technical theatre—including lighting, sound, AV, stagecraft, and set‐building—while ensuring the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and creative excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced, proactive technician to support both professional touring companies and the artistic work of Monkton Wood Academy, working collaboratively with staff, students, volunteers and visiting artists to bring productions to life in a dynamic and supportive environment.

All members of staff at Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre are employed by Cabot Learning Federation and enjoy the same terms and conditions of service as any other employee of the Federation. Full orientation will be given to successful candidates to ensure your familiarity with the role and venue.

About you

  • Has solid technical theatre experience, including at least two years working in a live events or theatre environment, with strong operational knowledge of lighting and sound systems.
  • Can confidently lead, train and support technicians, volunteers and students, providing clear guidance and maintaining high technical and safety standards.
  • Works safely and professionally at all times, with a good understanding of safe working practices and a willingness to undertake essential training such as Working at Height, COSHH, First Aid and Fire Safety.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem‐solving skills and remains calm, positive and solutions‐focused during fast‐paced or time‐critical situations.
  • Is highly organised, with strong time‐management and prioritisation skills, able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy, dynamic environment.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of people, including visiting companies, staff, students, contractors and community groups.
  • Brings a proactive, flexible and collaborative approach, working well both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Is passionate about the performing arts and committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and supporting positive experiences for all users of the Tacchi‐Morris Arts Centre.
