We are seeking a dedicated Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced culinary setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and build on previous kitchen experience. Whilst initially a fixed term contract, for the right candidate it could lead to a permanent role.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
  • Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
  • Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service
  • Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations
  • Follow health and safety regulations diligently to promote a safe working environment

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is essential
  • At least basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
  • Experience in meal preparation and serving within a busy setting will be highly regarded
  • A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills is essential

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service in a fast paced but fun setting. This role has flexibility in the hours and we are very open to flexibility in hours / days for the right candidate. Sponsorship is not available for this role and right to work visa must be in place before applying. This is a live out role and candidates must be able to commute daily from Inverness.
