As our Cloud Lead Services Specialist, we are looking for an Azure Specialist to help design, build, and support Azure systems across different locations. You’ll play a key role in improving how we use Azure, making sure it’s secure, cost-effective, and runs smoothly. This is a leadership role where you’ll guide and support a team of engineers, helping them grow and deliver projects that meet the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading a diverse team of skilled engineers, ensuring that service levels are maintained, and all work assigned to the Cloud Team is owned, prioritised, and actioned, whilst managing customer expectations through agile methodologies
- Maintain a robust resource plan to ensure project commitments are understood, allocated, scheduled and delivered on time and budget.
- Developing and monitoring SLA and KPI performance metrics for the Team as a whole, to ensure that service delivery can be quantified and measured
- Defining and designing the most appropriate technical solutions for the business / operational need
- Ensure consistency of design and implementation across data solutions within the organization
- Providing governance to the cloud environments by ensuring that the processes and guidelines are followed
- Support the design and implementation of cloud solutions as part of the lifecycle of projects
- Maintain up to date knowledge on current and emerging Azure / Cloud Data technologies as the subject matter expert in this area
Essential Experience in:
- Designing and implementing secure solutions built on Microsoft Azure
- IaC technologies and managing infrastructure across multiple environments
- PowerShell for implementing / maintaining Azure solutions
- Azure monitoring and security features such as Defender for Cloud
- Managing Azure Data technologies such as Databricks, Data Lake Gen2 and SQL Server PaaS
- Languages: Powershell, SQL, YAML
- Experience with Azure governance technologies such as Blueprinting, Policies, SQL Defender, Log Analytics
- Knowledge of automation tools and the concepts of Automation, for example JAMs and Azure Automation
- Knowledge of data governance (data catalogues, metadata management)
- Hold a relevant Azure Certification or able to evidence relevant experience
