Overview
In this role you lead maintenance at the site to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment and drive continuous improvement.
You manage a multidisciplinary technician team and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, SHE and Purchasing to uphold safety, optimize performance, and deliver operational excellence.
You’ll tackle reliability challenges, coordinate maintenance plans, and support capital and asset improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Mechanical and Instrument/Electrical Technicians to support reliability and safe work execution
- Plan, prioritize, and execute maintenance activities with Operations and Engineering using maintenance systems and processes
- Lead maintenance response during unplanned stoppages and drive problem solving and recovery
- Drive reliability and OEE improvements via RCA, FMEA, RCM, and preventive/predictive maintenance
- Collaborate with Purchasing, SHE and Engineering to select and manage contractors ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets
- Support Capital Plan and asset improvement projects to sustain and enhance site performance
- Manage MRO inventory to meet reliability and plant needs and oversee inspection registers (LOLER, scaffolding, etc.)
- Oversee maintenance workshop facilities and maintenance department documentation (SOPs, risk assessments, COSHH)
- Utilize ERP, CMMS and Microsoft systems to plan, execute, report, and continuously improve activities
- Lead safety culture and ensure compliance with SHE regulations and safe work permit processes
- Key requirements
- Detailed practical knowledge of maintenance and reliability tools and systems (FMEA, RCM, condition monitoring, CMMS)
- Experience with inspection, overhaul, and repair of rotating and static equipment in a hazardous process/manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of welding, NDT, instrument and electrical testing and calibration
- Strong SHE regulatory knowledge (Pressure Systems, PUWER, LOLER, DSEAR, COSHH, confined space, safe work permits)
- Understanding of Mechanical Integrity, Hazard Studies, MOC, PSSRs
- Ability to investigate accidents and near misses and implement corrective actions
- Experience using ERP, CMMS and Microsoft systems for planning and reporting
- Proactive safety leadership and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative, empowering leadership style with strong stakeholder management
- Self-motivated, results-focused and able to drive operational excellence
- NEBOSH General Certificate preferred; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; project management experience preferred
- Experience supporting mechanical integrity, asset reliability or maintenance improvement programs preferred
