About the Position:
As the Senior Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead site maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment. Managing a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation Technicians, you will drive maintenance excellence, improve asset reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, SHE, and Purchasing teams, you will play a key role in maintaining high safety standards, optimizing equipment performance, and delivering operational excellence across the site.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Support and promote the highest standards of Safety, Health and Environmental performance across all maintenance and construction activities on site.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Mechanical and Instrument/Electrical Technicians, ensuring the capability exists to support reliability, precision maintenance and safe work execution.
- Manage maintenance resources effectively to support operational requirements, routine maintenance activities, unplanned breakdown recovery and major shutdown or turnaround activity.
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Planner, Operations and Engineering teams to plan, prioritise, execute and close out maintenance activity through effective use of maintenance systems and work processes.
- Lead maintenance response during unplanned stoppages, supporting first-up information gathering, structured problem solving and recovery activity.
- Drive improvements in Reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness through Root Cause Failure Analysis, FMEA, RCM, preventive and predictive maintenance optimisation, condition monitoring and continuous improvement activity.
- Support improvement of key reliability measures, including Mean Time Between Failure and Mean Time To Repair.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, SHE and Engineering to select, qualify and manage contractors for maintenance and construction activities, ensuring contractor performance meets safety, quality and cost expectations.
- Support the Capital Plan and asset improvement projects to sustain and enhance the condition, reliability and performance of the site.
- Work with Purchasing, Engineering and Operations to optimise suppliers and support site Maintenance, Repair and Operations requirements.
- Support the MRO Store Person to ensure inventory and critical spares are optimised to meet reliability and plant performance needs.
- Own and manage site inspection registers, including LOLER, scaffolding, ladders and mobile equipment such as MEWP and Manitou equipment.
- Own and manage maintenance workshop facilities and equipment.
- Own and maintain maintenance department documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
What You Will Bring to Cabot:
- Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors)
- Detailed practical knowledge of maintenance and reliability tools and systems, including FMEA, RCM, condition monitoring and CMMS.
- Detailed practical knowledge of the inspection, overhaul and repair of rotating and static equipment in a hazardous process industry or similar manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of welding, non-destructive testing, instrument and electrical testing and calibration.
- Strong working knowledge of SHE regulations and requirements, including Pressure Systems, PUWER, LOLER, DSEAR, COSHH, Confined Space, risk assessment and safe work permit processes.
- Knowledge of process safety systems, including Mechanical Integrity, Hazard Studies, Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
- Knowledge and ability in accident, near miss investigation and reporting procedures.
- Knowledge and ability to assess, improve and implement maintenance workflow practices.
- Ability to use ERP, CMMS and Microsoft systems to support planning, execution, reporting and continuous improvement activity.

Education/Experience:
- HNC or above in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
- Significant experience in a maintenance and reliability role within a large process industry or manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- Well-practiced in people leadership within a manufacturing, maintenance or related engineering environment.
- Detailed practical knowledge of safe work permit systems, including electrical, working at height, hot work, line break, crane permits, excavation permits and roof permits.
- IT literate with experience using ERP, CMMS and Microsoft systems.
- NEBOSH General Certificate preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Experience supporting mechanical integrity, asset reliability or maintenance improvement programmes preferred.
