Your New Role

The Media Operations Coordinator (MOC) is a central technical and editorial role responsible for ensuring the seamless flow, integrity, and optimisation of all incoming and outgoing live and file-based media supporting live news programming, digital publishing, and multi-platform distribution. The role oversees the full lifecycle of video assets, from acquisition and ingest through to routing, quality control, metadata management, editorial prioritisation, archiving, and delivery.

Working closely with field teams, the Video Desk, Engineering, Satellite Operations, Production Control Rooms, Digital teams, producers, and video editors, you will help ensure the highest-value content is identified, prepared, and delivered for broadcast and digital audiences worldwide. Your Role Accountabilities

  • Oversee the acquisition, booking, routing, recording, monitoring, and delivery of all incoming live and file-based video, ensuring the most editorially valuable and technically sound material is available for broadcast, digital, and multiplatform use.
  • Coordinate, assign, and track editing tasks across the video editing team, acting as the primary liaison between editorial stakeholders and edit teams to balance newsroom priorities, deadlines, creative requirements, and resource availability.
  • Act as the central operational link between the Newsdesk, Control Rooms, and Media Operations, providing accurate, real-time updates on incoming feeds, source availability, and technical status to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure all video assets are ingested, logged, archived, and managed with accurate metadata, sourcing, and rights information, enabling efficient discovery, reuse, compliance, and long-term preservation.
  • Provide end-to-end monitoring and quality control of live and recorded video, proactively identifying issues and coordinating with Engineering and Satellite Operations to minimise disruption to production workflows.
  • Coordinate, establish, and oversee live and pre-recorded content from flash studios and translation booths, including studio bookings, conflict resolution, technical operation, and management of translation inputs and outputs.
  • Demonstrate strong editorial judgement to assess story relevance, identify compelling audio and video content, support newsroom priorities, and ensure valuable media assets are available when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience operating within a newsroom, broadcast media operation, or live production environment, with strong knowledge of newsroom, production, and media acquisition workflows.
  • Strong understanding of video and audio technical standards, including routing, recording, ingesting, monitoring, and working with FTP and video server-based systems.
  • Demonstrated editorial judgement and visual awareness, with a strong interest in international news and the ability to identify high-value content for broadcast and digital platforms.
  • High level of computer literacy, including metadata management, logging, rights information handling, and accurate system-based workflows.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple concurrent demands, make well-reasoned decisions in real time, and adapt effectively within a 24/7 news environment.
  • Knowledge of additional languages and familiarity with non-linear editing systems such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro would be beneficial.

#CCEOnsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work.
