A reputable data driven organisation based in Exeter is seeking a mid-level Software Developer to join their team and lead the development and support of business-critical systems across desktop, web, and mobile platforms. The Role:
As the sole developer in the business, you’ll have the unique opportunity to influence and lead the organisation’s software direction. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll support existing applications, innovate new tools, and help shape data-driven decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities of a Software Developer:
- Develop and maintain core business applications using C# and .NET, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Create robust SQL Server procedures, queries, and optimisations to support data-focused solutions
- Lead web and mobile development projects, from design through to deployment
- Act as the company’s internal software expert, translating requirements into scalable solutions
- Provide insight (through e.g. Excel / Power BI) which assists the senior team make commercial decisions
Requirements of the Software Developer include:
- Proven experience in C# and .NET development, with solid SQL Server expertise
- Commercial experience in supporting business applications and working with Excel to provide data insight
- Strong understanding of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET)
- Ability to operate independently and engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders
