Role Overview
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Saltash. This is a consultative, customer-facing role where you will combine your technical knowledge with commercial awareness to develop bespoke machinery and automation solutions. Working closely with customers and internal engineering teams, you will support projects from initial enquiry through to project commencement, helping manufacturers improve efficiency, quality and performance.
Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer:
- Build and develop strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes and prepare tailored technical proposals and quotations.
- Manage opportunities throughout the full sales cycle, working closely with engineering teams to deliver practical solutions.
- Support customer visits, product demonstrations, factory acceptance testing, and occasional UK and international travel.
Requirements of the Sales Engineer:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and confidently discuss engineering solutions with customers.
- Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to relationship management.
