The Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to take a leading role within a busy and growing transport planning team. You will independently manage and deliver multiple development-led transport projects, providing expert input, guiding junior colleagues, and representing the organisation in client, stakeholder, and public settings. Responsibilities of the Senior Transport Planner:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of transport planning projects, ensuring delivery to scope, deadlines, and budget.
- Act as a key client contact, representing the organisation in meetings, consultations, and negotiations.
- Develop and review technical transport planning outputs, maintaining high standards and best practice.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to knowledge-sharing and team development.
Requirements of the Senior Transport Planner:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline; MSc in Transport Planning advantageous.
- Around 5–10 years’ experience in development-led transport planning with strong project management capability.
- Knowledge of MfS, DMRB, the planning system, and associated transport planning methodologies.
- Experience using modelling and analytical tools such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, GIS, and Excel.
