This role is ideal for a highly organised and motivated professional with strong leadership skills and a background in transport operations.
The Role:
As Duty Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of transport operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and compliance with legal and company standards. You will work closely with drivers, engineering teams, and senior management to maintain high service levels while also identifying areas for operational improvement. Your role will involve real-time monitoring of vehicles, scheduling staff, resolving on-the-spot issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will:
- Supervise drivers and ensure they meet uniform and punctuality standards
- Oversee daily route planning and proactively address potential delays
- Conduct initial investigations into service complaints or vehicle issues
- Collaborate with the engineering team to schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Ensure all operations adhere to industry regulations and safety requirements
- Assist with driver training and mentoring where needed
- Maintain key documentation, including expense sheets, compliance records, and vehicle defect reports
- Occasionally step in to drive coaches if required

- Shift Pattern: 5 days on, 3 days off (rolling shifts, including weekends & bank holidays)
