Description
In this role, you will lead the Consulting team in Isle of Man, with a clear mandate to grow our presence in the local market, build a high-performing local team, and strengthen relationships across Isle of Man’s key sectors. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping and delivering a locally relevant consulting proposition for Isle of Man clients and stakeholders, while ensuring the Isle of Man team operates as an integral part of the wider Crown Dependencies consulting business. Reporting to the Head of Practice, with a dotted line into the local Managing Director, you will combine market leadership, client delivery, and commercial responsibility. Our Consulting team brings together Management Consulting Services, Transformation & Change and Training & Adoption to help clients solve complex business challenges, deliver strategic change, and improve performance. In Isle of Man, this role will originate and win local business, lead complex engagements, and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives across financial services, the public sector, and other strategic markets, working hand in glove with colleagues across the wider Crown Dependencies team to provide joined-up services and the best outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Business Development
- Originate and win new business opportunities, achieving agreed annual revenue targets (e.g. £500k+ new business per year, scaling over time).
- Build sector-specific propositions and thought leadership to strengthen our market position.
- Lead or co-lead major proposals and pitches, ensuring alignment with client needs and our strategic focus.
Client Leadership
- Act as the strategic relationship lead for key accounts, ensuring exceptional client experience and long‑term retention.
- Shape engagement scope, approach, and outcomes in collaboration with clients’ senior leaders.
Engagement Delivery
- Oversee multiple concurrent complex projects, ensuring delivery excellence, commercial performance, and measurable client impact.
- Provide direction, quality assurance, and escalation support across the portfolio.
People & Practice Leadership
- Mentor and coach senior team members to build leadership capability and promote a high‑performance culture.
- Contribute to recruitment, resource planning, and talent development across the practice.
- Lead internal initiatives to innovate and improve consulting methodologies and frameworks.
Market Presence & Reputation
- Represent the company at conferences, networking events, and in professional forums.
- Publish articles, insights, and viewpoints to enhance our brand visibility.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all client engagements comply with risk and quality procedures.
- Maintain up‑to‑date CDD/EDD for client relationships and meet all financial crime compliance obligations.
- Uphold our standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism across all engagements.
- Meet individual, practice, and firm revenue, profit, and contribution targets.
- Comply with the Group Data Protection policy.
- Support the Client Directors to ensure that all business relationships, for which you are booked to work on, comply with the company's financial crime policies & procedures including:
- the accuracy and quality of customer due diligence (CDD) measures
- the accuracy and quality of enhanced customer due diligence (EDD)measures on a risk‑based approach
- the accuracy of information resulting in an appropriate financial riskrating.
- the completion of periodic reviews in a timely manner (the frequencyof which is based on risk) and keeping CDD and or EDD up to date
- Review & comply with all relevant financial crime policies & procedures including, but not limited to, the following:
- Financial Crime Business Risk Assessment - summary
- Financial Crime Strategy
- Financial Crime Risk Appetite
- Financial Crime Policies, specifically that no opinions, reports, returns or other such client deliverables may be issued in draft or final form to any client or other relevant party unless all customers’ due diligence is up to date and appropriately approved in accordance with Group procedures.
- Procedures and Guidance contained within the AML manual as updated from time to time.
- Ensure all mandatory financial crime training is complete (for self and any managers/team members for which you are responsible).
- Promote a compliance culture throughout and assist with the development of financial crime awareness to any employees who report into you.
- Make reports of suspicious activity as required within the Group internal suspicious activity reporting procedures (within the AML Manual).

Experience (essential)
- Significant experience in Consulting, or a comparable leadership role, with a proven record of delivering measurable impact.
- Demonstrable success in originating and closing new business at Director level or equivalent.
- Experience leading strategic transformation, operating model design, governance, risk and compliance projects, or technology‑enabled change.
- Sustained track record of managing senior client relationships and delivering multi‑project portfolios.
- Proven experience in leading and developing high‑performing teams.
Experience (desirable)
- Exposure to offshore financial services, trust & corporate services, and regulated sectors such as government and utilities.
- Experience integrating consulting with technology, digital transformation, or data/AI projects.
- Strong familiarity with consulting and delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP, Agile/SAFe, Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Operating Model Canvas, COBIT, etc, with the ability to select and adapt the right approach for each client engagement.
Education
- Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience desirable but not essential.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in consulting, transformation, change, project or programme delivery, risk, compliance, or sector specialisms are advantageous.
