Overview
Our client is a growing IT solutions and managed services business that delivers cloud, infrastructure, security, and digital transformation projects to organisations across a variety of sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Consultant to join their professional services team. This role will suit an experienced consultant who enjoys leading technical projects, advising customers, and delivering high-quality solutions across Microsoft cloud and infrastructure technologies.
You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and overseeing complex projects while helping customers modernise and secure their IT environments.
The Role
As a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Consultant, you will take ownership of the design and delivery of cloud and infrastructure projects from initial discovery through to implementation and handover.
Working closely with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams, you will provide expert guidance on architecture, security, scalability, and best practice while ensuring successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Delivery
- Design and implement cloud and infrastructure solutions.
- Lead projects through all phases of delivery.
- Provide technical leadership on architecture, performance, and security.
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard and aligned with customer requirements.
Customer Engagement
- Work directly with customers to understand business and technical objectives.
- Provide consultancy and technical recommendations.
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout project lifecycles.
- Support workshops, technical reviews, and solution planning sessions.
Cloud & Infrastructure Technologies
- Deliver Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Implement identity and access management technologies.
- Support infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
- Deploy and maintain virtualisation, networking, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Contribute to security-focused projects and best practice adoption.
Team Collaboration
- Produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Ensure smooth project handovers to operational support teams.
- Contribute to technical standards, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior infrastructure, cloud, or consultancy role.
- Strong background in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing infrastructure and cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of identity, security, and access management technologies.
- Experience with Windows Server environments and core infrastructure services.
- Exposure to virtualisation platforms.
- Strong networking knowledge, including VPNs, firewalls, and connectivity solutions.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
- Ability to balance technical excellence with practical business requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Experience delivering large-scale or multi-phase transformation projects.
- Pre-sales, discovery, or solution-shaping experience.
- Experience mentoring junior technical team members.
- Involvement in developing technical standards and best practices.
- Background in Microsoft 365 and Azure migration projects.
- Experience with infrastructure modernisation and security transformation programmes.
