The Business
Our client is a growing multi-site organisation operating across a number of locations throughout the UK. As the business continues to expand through organic growth and acquisition activity, they are seeking a commercially focused Group Management Accountant to join their central finance function.
The Role
The Group Management Accountant will be responsible for producing accurate financial information across multiple entities, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring strong financial controls are maintained.
The role offers broad exposure across management accounting, group reporting, process improvement, audit support, and commercial finance activities.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will help drive consistency, accuracy, and insight across the Group's management reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple entities across the group.
- Assist with consolidated reporting and financial performance analysis.
- Produce and post month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage accounting activities for various group entities.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making.
Business Partnering & Analysis
- Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
- Produce regular KPI and performance reporting.
- Support operational managers with financial insight and reporting requirements.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and commercial finance projects.
Budgeting & Planning
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist with long-term financial planning activities.
- Help identify risks, opportunities, and trends within financial performance.
Control & Compliance
- Maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Support external audits and regulatory compliance activities.
- Assist with taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage intercompany accounting processes and reconciliations.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Support finance systems enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to integration and growth projects as the organisation expands.
Team Support
- Provide guidance and support to junior finance colleagues.
- Help develop finance processes and best practice across the wider team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Previous experience within a management accounting, financial accounting, or group finance environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
- Experience producing management accounts across multiple entities or business units.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a multi‑site or group structure environment.
- Exposure to finance transformation or systems implementation projects.
- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior finance team members.
- Experience supporting business growth, acquisition, or integration activity.
