We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Depot Electrician.
Purpose of the Role:
- Undertake the provision of electrical plant maintenance and repair activities at c2c Depots.
- Undertake minor ‘new works’ at c2c depots.
- Troubleshooting electrical failures at East Ham and Shoeburyness Depots.
- Respond to electrical failures at East Ham and Shoeburyness Depots.
- Accountable to the Plant & Infrastructure Manager for routine maintenance of depot plant and equipment at East Ham and Shoeburyness depots.
- Accountable to the Plant & Infrastructure Manager for fault finding, diagnosing electrical issues and repair of depot plant and equipment at East Ham and Shoeburyness depots to ensure minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
- Accountable to the Plant & Infrastructure Manager for undertaking minor ‘New Works’ relating to plant and equipment at East Ham and Shoeburyness depots including the installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Assist and in some cases supervise contractors undertaking maintenance, repair and new works at c2c depots as required.
- Assist in the identification and purchase of equipment and materials required in undertaking maintenance, repair and new works at c2c depots.
- Maintain and file accurate records of electrical maintenance and repair work undertaken, including parts used, to plant and equipment at East Ham and Shoeburyness depots.
- Ensures that outstanding Plant and Infrastructure Electrical faults remain below targeted levels, implementing a proactive approach to resolving the faults to minimise disruptions.
- Maintains Trenitalia c2c provided tools and equipment in accordance with industry standards.
- Work closely with other Plant and Equipment team members, contractors and management to coordinate activities and optimise Depot operations.
You must ensure that you and your staff always work in accordance with the c2c Values: Honest, Engaged, Focused, Friendly and Safe, and abide by the c2c commitment of putting the customer first in everything we do. You will identify and action improvements in all areas of depot operation and service delivery in accordance with the ISO9001 principles of ‘Plan, Do, Review’.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Must have served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent period of practical training.
- Competent application of the latest Electrical regulation.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to use a wide variety of tools and equipment.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of COSHH, Confined Spaces, Hot Work, High Voltage regulations etc.
- Organise daily and weekly activities to ensure work meets required timescales.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility of approach.
- Writes reports in a clear and concise manner.
Safety Training/Certification:
- Fire Safety (Primary Module) or equivalent.
- Local Safety Induction.
- Working at Heights.
- Abrasive wheels.
- Certified Competent in Personal Track Safety.
- Manual Handling.
- Ladder & Scaffold Trained.
- Certified Competent to latest IEE Wiring Regulations.
- UK Driving License.
Other training will be provided as and when required. This will be dependent upon future altered or amended duties.
