Salary: Up to £60,000 dependant on qualifications and experience

About us: Here at c2c we take pride in being an award-winning train operator running services between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness, serving 26 stations in East London and South Essex. The role: This role leads the development and delivery of the organisational fire strategy and associated plans. You will be responsible for:

  • Safeguarding people’s lives and station infrastructure by planning, formulating, implementing, and supervising fire safety plans that take care of fire and life safety systems.
  • Maintaining and implementing the Fire Safety Policy, undertaking Fire Risk Assessments, investigations and audit and associated compliance and audit activities.
  • Providing support and advice across the business to ensure compliance with fire legislation and industry standards.
  • Working collaboratively with the Learning and development team to establish a robust programme of fire training and associated competencies.
  • Adopting a business partnering function across the business promoting collaborative working and providing necessary information, guidance and support.

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Be a passionate people person, someone who can influence for the positive outcome.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation including a good understanding of active and passive fire protection.
  • CDM Regulations knowledge is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Rail Industry and Network Rail standards advantageous.
  • A degree in environmental safety or any other related discipline is advantageous.
  • Fire risk assessment qualification.
  • Fire investigation qualification.
  • Well organised and ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Excellent communication skills on all fronts (speaking, writing, and listening).
  • Good attention to detail.
