About the Job
To deliver project management activities on a number of different schemes; managing all elements of the project including programme, risk, safety and commercial. To be at all times in touch with each scheme up to date position, report and escalation of issues as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Programme Planning – manage the scheme plans alongside the contractor(s), challenging where necessary progress.
- Project Oversight – Oversee projects within, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standard. Conduct readiness reviews at appropriate points to ensure successful delivery.
- Change Control – introduce an appropriate level of control to track and manage changes to programme and budget.
- Forecasting – setup and manage procedure to improve current forecast accuracy for Asset maintenance and renewal portfolio to get us on a level ground for accurate forecasting.
- Stakeholder Management – Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure they are up to date on and bought into work programme to instill confidence. Reporting to c2c Board, Project Management Office and Department for Transport as required. Work with Communications and wider business teams to ensure passengers and third parties are notified of c2c works programme.
- Risk Management – Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact the projects success.
- Resource Allocation – Ensure internal and external resources are efficiently allocated and utilised across all projects within the programme.
- Reporting – Provide regular updates to c2c senior management team and other key stakeholders on the programme’s progress and risks and issues arising.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications Required
- Excellent knowledge of project management and project delivery for railway construction projects.
- Experience of cost control and management.
- Excellent safety leadership and behaviours.
- Experienced in assurance, governance & change control for projects.
- Proven track record of implementation of projects to time, quality and budget.
- Knowledge of Network Rail and Rail Industry standards, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Risk Management and Common Safety Method.
- Proficient with all standard Microsoft Packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.
