Are you a natural leader who enjoys being hands-on, motivating a team and getting the job done? Looking for something a little different from traditional retail management?

C2 Recruitment is looking for a confident, organised and enthusiastic Retail Shift Leader to lead stocktaking teams across local and surrounding areas.

This isn't your typical retail management job.

You won't be based in the same store every day.

Instead, you'll visit different retail locations, lead your team and take responsibility for delivering successful stocktakes for a range of well-known retailers.

If you enjoy variety, taking ownership and leading from the front, this could be a great opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Retail Shift Leader, you'll be the person making sure everything runs smoothly on site.

  • Lead, motivate and support your stocktaking team.
  • Organise each shift and ensure stocktakes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor performance, keep your team focused and help everyone deliver their best.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and act as their main point of contact.
  • Resolve day-to-day challenges and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures and company standards are followed.
  • Complete stocktake reports and relevant administration.
  • You’ll be trusted to take ownership of your shifts, make decisions and ensure your team delivers a professional service every time.

What We're Looking For

You don't need previous stocktaking experience. We're more interested in your leadership skills, attitude and ability to get the best out of people.

Ideally, you'll have

  • Experience leading or supervising a team, ideally within retail, hospitality, warehousing or another fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence managing people and making decisions.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive, hands-on approach and a willingness to get involved.
  • Good attention to detail and basic IT skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights and weekends.
  • You’ll need to be comfortable travelling to different locations, with occasional overnight stays when required.
  • This is an active role involving plenty of standing and walking, so you’ll need to enjoy being on your feet and working alongside your team.

What's In It For You?

  • Salary up to £33,290 per annum.
  • £290 per month car allowance (£3,480 per year) or company car.
  • Potential total salary and car allowance package of up to £36,770 per annum.
  • Permanent, full-time employment.
  • Business travel expenses paid.
  • Paid annual leave.
  • Full training and ongoing support.
  • Opportunities to develop your leadership skills and progress your career.
  • A varied role where no two working days are quite the same.

Ready to Lead Something Different?

We’re looking for someone who leads by example, enjoys a challenge and takes pride in delivering results.

Please note: This role involves regular evening and night shifts, weekend working and travel. Applicants must be aged 18 or over.

By applying for this role, you are consenting for C2 Recruitment to hold and process your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

How to prepare for a job interview at C2 Recruitment

✨Show Off Your Customer Service Skills

We should have examples on hand of how we've handled difficult situations or gone above and beyond to meet a customer's needs. These anecdotes will bring your application to life!

✨Familiarity with Point of Sale Systems

Many retail roles require us to work with Point of Sale (POS) systems, so it's a good idea to brush up on any relevant software you’ve used before. ✨Be Ready for Role-Playing Scenarios

Many retail interviews include role-playing scenarios where we might have to deal with a difficult customer or upsell a product.
