C2 Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced MEP Fire Technician to join a growing and well-established business delivering specialist fire alarm services across railway infrastructure and commercial properties. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Fire Alarm Service Engineer who wants a varied role, strong earning potential and the chance to develop within a business that invests in training, equipment and long-term career progression.
You will work across Essex, London and the South East, carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, fault finding, small works and commissioning on a wide range of fire detection and alarm systems.
The RoleAs MEP Fire Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring fire alarm systems remain compliant, reliable and fully operational. Your duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs
- Responding to reactive call-outs when required
- Completing small works, including system modifications, extensions and device replacements
- Testing, inspecting and commissioning fire alarm equipment
- Completing service documentation accurately
- Working in line with company, client and site health and safety procedures
You will need:
- Level 3 Award in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, including BS 5839-1
- Strong working knowledge of BS 5839-1
- Good understanding of safe electrical isolation
- Experience working with open protocol fire alarm systems
- Practical knowledge of Advanced Electronics, Kentec, Apollo and Hochiki systems
- Full UK driving licence
It would also be beneficial to have:
- Electrical Installation qualification
- Railway experience or PTS certification
- Experience with emergency lighting, PAVA systems or portable fire extinguishers
£55,000 to £60,000 salary, depending on experience
