Collixion Therapeutics is an early-stage biotech developing therapies for women with gynecological cancers who relapse after targeted treatment – the patients who run out of options when they need them most.
We are building at the intersection of AI and drug discovery in gynecological cancer. The technical territory spans several areas and we are looking for someone who is strong across most of them and excited to grow in the rest.
- Computational biology and genomics
- Worked with and analyzed large-scale biological datasets from public sources
- Differential expression analysis, pattern recognition, and biological interpretation of cancer cell line and patient tumor data
- Understanding of how gene expression data is structured, normalized, and made meaningful in a research context
- AI and machine learning
- Building AI-powered applications that turn biological data into structured, interpretable predictions
- LLM API integration – designing prompt architectures that produce scientifically grounded outputs
- Knowing when AI adds genuine value and when simpler statistical approaches are more appropriate
- Software and platform development
- Python proficiency – building pipelines that process, analyze, and output biological data reliably and reproducibly
- Experience deploying functional applications that non-technical collaborators can interact with
- A builder instinct – you write code to ship things that work, not to demonstrate technical elegance
Valued but not required:
- Background in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, or biomedical engineering
- scRNA-seq analysis experience
- Prior experience at an early-stage biotech, research startup, or translational academic lab
- Genuine curiosity
This role is well suited to someone earlier in their career who wants to take a considered bet on a novel approach. You might be finishing a PhD in a computational field and want your first industry experience to be one where you build something from scratch. You might be a postdoc ready to move toward applied work. You might be a self-taught computational scientist who has been waiting for a problem worth your time. What matters more than your specific background is how you approach hard problems. We are looking for someone who sees a scientific question and thinks about how computation can answer it. Someone who is comfortable with ambiguity. Someone who wants to contribute to something that does not exist yet.
The Pathway to Co-Founder or CTO: There is a real pathway from this role to co-founder or CTO. It is not automatic and it is not guaranteed. It depends on how the collaboration develops, the contributions you make to the technical direction of the company, and whether the long-term fit is right for both of us. If you come in, engage as a genuine thought partner, and the working relationship is strong – we will have an explicit conversation about what the next stage of the relationship looks like. We are not looking for someone to help us get over a short-term technical hurdle and then move on. We are looking for someone who might want to build this company with us. If that is interesting to you, that is the spirit in which this role is offered.
What We Offer:
- Equity in an early-stage company – meaningful, negotiated based on commitment and contribution, vesting with cliff
- A genuine thought partnership – your expertise and judgment shape what gets built, not just how it gets built
- LabCentral lab space and full genomics infrastructure including 10X Chromium X, NextSeq 2000, and spectral flow cytometry
- C10 Labs AI Biohub program – mentorship and the Boston biotech ecosystem
