This is a founder-track role with a clear path to CEO. We are only considering candidates who have:
- Built or operated in an early-stage startup (0–20 employees)
- Taken products or initiatives from 0 → 1 (not just evaluated or advised)
If your background is primarily in investing, consulting, or large organizations without building experience, this role is likely not the right fit.
C10 Labs is a venture studio and early-stage fund building applied AI companies across healthcare, life sciences, energy, and industrial systems. Based in Kendall Square (Cambridge, MA), we partner with founders to go from idea → product → venture-backed company—providing engineering, capital, and hands-on support from day one.
We are incubating a new company in the biotech investing space: an AI-powered platform designed to transform how investors conduct scientific and technical due diligence. Biotech investing is increasingly bottlenecked by fragmented data, complex biology, and slow, manual workflows. This company is being built to solve that—enabling faster, more rigorous, and scalable evaluation of biotech opportunities.
This is not a traditional EIR role. You will step in as the acting business and product lead from day one, with a clear path to becoming CEO upon initial funding. You will own product, execution, market development, and fundraising, working closely with C10 Labs while operating with founder-level autonomy.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Build (0 → 1)
- Take full ownership of the company from early concept to initial product
- Translate the PRD into a clear roadmap, milestones, and execution plan
- Drive rapid iteration with users and design partners
- Work directly with C10 Labs’ engineering team building the platform
- Set priorities, define features, and ensure high-velocity execution
- Act as the bridge between product, technical execution, and customer needs
- Be hands-on in product decisions (this is not a delegation role)
Engage Customers & Define the Market
- Work closely with early design partners (funds, investors, biotech stakeholders)
- Run customer discovery and shape the product around real workflows
- Define the initial wedge into the market and expansion strategy
Fundraise & Build the Company
- Lead early fundraising (target: initial SAFE within ~3–6 months)
- Develop the investor narrative, pitch, and financial model
- Build relationships with investors and strategic partners
- Recruit early team members as the company scales
Who You Are
- Founder / Builder (Required)
- Founder or early employee at a startup (0–20 stage strongly preferred)
- Experience building and shipping from 0 → 1
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity with limited structure
- Strong bias for execution, speed, and ownership
- Product + Market Operator
- Strong product instincts and ability to move from idea → execution
- Experience working with technical teams (engineering, AI, or data)
- Able to translate complex domains into usable products
- Biotech / Investing Exposure
- Experience in venture capital, investing, or diligence workflows, or
- Exposure to biotech, life sciences, or healthcare ecosystems
Note: Pure investors without building experience are not a fit.
- Communication & Leadership
- Clear communicator across technical, scientific, and investor audiences
- Ability to lead without authority in early-stage environments
- Strong ownership mindset—you want to build and lead a company
Bonus (Not Required)
- Background in AI/ML, computational biology, or bioinformatics
- Experience building products for technical users (scientists, investors)
- Prior fundraising experience as a founder
What This Role Is NOT
To ensure alignment, this role is likely not a fit if you:
- Want a traditional EIR or exploratory role without full ownership
- Prefer evaluating companies rather than building one
- Are looking for a structured environment with defined scope
- Have not operated in early-stage startup environments
Compensation & Structure
Meaningful founder equity from day one. Transition to salary + equity upon initial funding (target: ~3–6 months). Full support from C10 Labs during the build phase.
Why This Role
You are stepping into:
- A company with a clear, high-value use case
- Real customer demand from day one
- Engineering resources already in motion
- A defined path to funding and CEO seat
This is an opportunity to build a category-defining company at the intersection of AI, biotech, and investing with real ownership and support.
