About the Venture
C10 Labs is currently incubating a new internal venture dedicated to establishing a longitudinal developmental intelligence platform powered by multimodal artificial intelligence (AI). This platform applies multimodal AI to interpret developmentally relevant behavioral signals and support children from infancy through adolescence.
The objective is to furnish continuous, developmentally informed insights across a comprehensive array of use cases, including early childhood milestones, autism-related behavioral markers, speech development, self-regulation and sleep patterns, learning differences, attention trajectories, emotional and behavioral health, and the evolving needs pertinent to preteens and adolescents.
Our methodology positions multimodal AI as the core enabling technology for accurately interpreting subtle, age-specific developmental signals with a level of sensitivity, continuity, and personalization that surpasses traditional assessment tools.
We are seeking a distinguished Child Development & Pediatric Behavioral Health Advisor to ensure that AI-derived interpretations are rigorously aligned with established developmental science and best clinical practices. The Advisor will be instrumental in guiding the translation of multimodal behavioral signals into precise, developmentally grounded insights spanning the 0–15 year developmental spectrum.
This advisor will collaborate closely with our product, data science, and research teams to guarantee that the venture's application of multimodal AI—encompassing video-based behavior analysis, speech and language cue interpretation, sensor-derived movement patterns, and longitudinal developmental modeling—is clinically sound, age-appropriate, and responsibly communicated to families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert developmental guidance to inform how multimodal AI interprets behaviors, developmental milestones, and age-specific patterns throughout childhood and adolescence.
- Validate AI-derived insights pertaining to autism early signs, developmental delays, speech and motor patterns, executive function, school-age learning trajectories, emotional regulation, sleep behavior, and adolescent transitions.
- Advise on appropriate developmental frameworks to inform AI training methodologies, data annotation strategies, and age-specific signal interpretation models.
- Ensure that insights generated by multimodal models are clinically accurate, culturally sensitive, and strictly aligned with the nuances of pediatric development.
- Review research protocols, preliminary validation studies, and the ethical frameworks governing the use of child behavioral data.
- Support the formulation of clear, developmentally appropriate messaging for communicating AI-generated insights to families and clinicians.
- Offer perspectives on the longitudinal relationship between early developmental signals and subsequent childhood/adolescent outcomes.
Qualifications
- An advanced degree (e.g., Ph.D., Psy.D., M.D.) in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, Pediatric Behavioral Health, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 7–10 years of professional experience across early childhood, school-age, or adolescent developmental contexts.
- A strong foundation in developmental screening practices, understanding of early behavioral variation, expertise in ASD-related early signs, attention/learning differences, and pediatric behavioral health.
- Familiarity with teams developing AI or digital health tools is beneficial, though not strictly required.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex clinical or developmental constructs into actionable guidance for data scientists and product development teams.
What Success Looks Like
- The multimodal AI system consistently reflects accurate, developmentally appropriate interpretations across the entire 0–15 year trajectory.
- Developmental insights are validated, ethical, and provide meaningful support for families and clinicians.
- The platform clinical credibility and developmental robustness, fundamentally rooted in expert guidance.
