Embassy Cafe is seeking a reliable and skilled Breakfast Head Chef to manage our busy morning service. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality breakfast dishes, managing kitchen prep, and ensuring excellent food standards.
Morning routine: Cook breakfast items quickly and to a high standard during peak café rushes, set up the breakfast station before service begins at 6am. Because this shift extends into the early afternoon, you will also oversee the transition from breakfast to lunch prep such as cooking lasagna, chicken curry, chilli con carne, shakshuka, while prepping for a lunch rush. You will be setting up the kitchen for the following day while utilising the early afternoon hours to prep ingredients for the next morning and managing strict kitchen hygiene, food storage, and temperature control standards.
One of the most important duties will be inventory control - monitoring food stock, rotating ingredients, and reporting shortages. Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy morning rushes is highly valuable; punctuality is a requirement.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced professional kitchen or café with a valid UK Food Safety and Hygiene Certification (Level 2 preferred).
Shift Schedule & Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 5:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Sunday: Day Off
Total: 6 days per week (59 hour week)
Salary: from £13.6 hourly
