C-Zero Markets is seeking a driven and commercially minded Business Development Executive to lead new client acquisition and partnership growth across the UK and European markets. This is a highly outward-facing role for someone with the energy, credibility and market knowledge to open doors with corporates, generators, suppliers and intermediaries across the energy transition space. You will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across C-Zero's full suite of environmental commodity products. With Europe's decarbonisation agenda accelerating, this is an exceptional opportunity to build a significant book of business in markets that are growing rapidly in complexity and value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across UK and European markets
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospects including corporates, energy suppliers, generators, asset owners and sustainability-focused organisations
  • Lead client conversations from initial outreach through to commercial close
  • Develop and present tailored solutions across C-Zero's product range
  • Attend and represent C-Zero at industry events, conferences and trade bodies across Europe
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers in target markets

Market Coverage & Product Focus

  • Drive new business across: Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGOs), Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs), Carbon credits and CO₂ products, Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs), Corporate Gas Purchase Agreements (CGPAs)
  • Develop a strong understanding of the regulatory and commercial landscape in key European markets (e.g. Germany, France, Benelux, Nordics)
  • Identify and assess new geographic or product verticals that present growth opportunities for C-Zero

Collaboration & Commercial Execution

  • Work closely with traders and operational teams to structure and deliver client solutions
  • Provide market intelligence and client feedback to inform product development and strategy
  • Support the development of marketing materials, pitch decks and client-facing collateral
  • Contribute to C-Zero's commercial strategy and go-to-market approach in Europe

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in B2B business development, sales or origination - ideally within energy, environmental commodities or financial markets
  • Strong commercial instincts with a confident, consultative approach to client engagement
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage your own pipeline and priorities
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous: Environmental commodity markets (REGOs, carbon, RGGOs), Renewable energy or power/gas origination, Corporate sustainability or ESG advisory, Energy brokerage or trading, European energy market knowledge

Languages

  • English is essential
  • Proficiency in French, German, Dutch, Spanish or another European language is highly desirable and will be a significant advantage for candidates targeting Continental European markets

Education

  • Degree preferred in: Business, Economics, Finance, Sciences, Engineering, Languages or a related discipline
  • Strong A-Levels considered alongside relevant commercial experience
  • Graduate or School leaver with 1-2 years experience
