Due to business requirements and the nature of the contract we have with Edinburgh Council, the role is based at Link’s Edinburgh Office.

Permanent Salary: £40,107.00 to £45,927.00 per annum (dependent on skills and experience).

These posts are based at Link’s Edinburgh office. Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm and Friday 8:30am to 4pm. Potential late working to 7.30pm on a rota basis is required for this role.

C~urb PSL is looking for an Edinburgh based Housing Officer to deliver a professional tenancy management service to customers. Reporting to the Tenancy Services Supervisor, the role involves:

  • Tenancy sign-ups
  • Regular visits and signposting for support or money advice
  • Making housing benefit claims and handling arrears
  • Reporting repairs
  • Managing tenancy breaches
  • Bringing tenancies to an end

The role is within a wider team of Housing Officers within the Private Sector Leasing (PSL) Service provided by Link on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council. Properties are leased from private landlords to the City of Edinburgh Council which are let to households facing homelessness on a Short Scottish Secure Tenancy as intermediate temporary accommodation.

As PSL Housing Officer, you will ideally have an SCQF Level 6 qualification or equivalent housing or lettings experience. You will be self-motivated to work as a lone worker and as part of a team with a commitment to excellent customer service.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as are organisational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, problem solving and time management skills. You will need an awareness of housing benefit and wider welfare benefit issues although training will be provided. You will have experience of following procedures and of using a range of IT packages. This role requires a full drivers licence and access to a car for work.
