We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our growing team, reporting to the Director of Product. This role is pivotal in driving the development and success of our platform, which integrates with electronic health record (EHR) systems and supports diverse user groups, including healthcare professionals and patients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver features that meet the needs of our users and align with business goals. This role requires experience in the UK healthcare system, knowledge of compliance standards, and a proven ability to navigate the complexities of healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Product Vision and Roadmap: Collaborate with the Product Director to define and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company objectives and user needs.
  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements for the product.
  • Backlog Management: Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
  • EHR Integration: Lead the development and optimization of features integrated with EHR systems (e.g., EMIS, Vision, SystemOne), ensuring seamless workflows for healthcare professionals.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all product features comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between product, engineering, clinical, and commercial teams, ensuring smooth communication and delivery of product features.
  • User-Centric Design: Advocate for user needs, working closely with the user research and UX/UI teams to design intuitive and impactful solutions for both clinicians and patients.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features and inform iterative improvements.
  • Problem Solving: Address challenges in a complex healthcare setting, balancing competing priorities and ensuring the product delivers measurable value to users.
  • Agile Practices: Facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure efficient and transparent development cycles.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for stakeholders, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows.

Requirements

  • Healthcare Experience: Proven experience in a healthcare-related field in the UK, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and challenges.
  • Product Ownership Expertise: 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role, ideally in a healthcare SaaS environment.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements, including GDPR, HIPAA, and relevant clinical safety standards.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of software development processes, including Agile methodologies. Ability to analyze data and user feedback to inform product decisions and measure success.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex user needs into actionable requirements. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with technical, clinical, and commercial teams.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Informatics, Computer Science, Business). Advanced degrees are a plus.
