Based between Knutsford and Warrington, my client is a leading manufacturing company who manufacture products for the oil and gas industry and who are market leaders in their field. They rarely recruit due to their excellent work environment and they are seeking to hire an additional Mechanical Design Engineer who will be involved with product design, development and support.
To be considered you need at least 3 years mechanical design experience within a manufacturing environment and excellent communication skills as there will be a lot of interaction with customers. Salary is market leading, 33 holidays, pension, life assurance and an early finish at either 12 noon or 1pm every Friday depending on which start time you prefer. You can choose to work either of the hours below:
- Mon-Thurs, 7am-4pm and Fri, 7am-12 noon
- Mon-Thurs, 8am-5pm and Fri, 8am-1pm

Role:Mechanical Design Engineer
- Create 3D models and associated drawings for both internal and external use to standardised methodologies.
- Carry out new product development and improvements to existing products.
- Produce load calculations, load tables, and carry out loading simulations/analysis.
- Carry out product testing and report creation for internal developments and third-party certification.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of design specifications.
- Support in the development of design processes.
- Provide technical support to all areas of the business and customers.
Mechanical Design Engineer
- HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification with at least 3 years experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in the use of 3D Solid modelling software.
- Recent experience working as a Design Engineer within a sheet metal fabrication environment is advantageous but not essential.
