CTS Europe Ltd Containment Technology Services specialise in the design, construction and commissioning of Laboratory Containment Systems for handling pharmaceutical drug compounds. We are looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design Team. The successful candidate may have completed an apprenticeship in Engineering and have a proven ability to use Solidworks, or a similar 3D CAD package. They will have good attention to detail and work well as part of a small quality focused team. The candidate will be quality focused and be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding and competence in Engineering Design. This is an excellent first step on the career ladder for an enthusiastic Engineer wanting to grow their competency and experience.

Your skills:

  • Working on custom build projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the required client specification.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and a recognised design engineering degree BSc or BEng, or an Engineering Apprenticeship with experience of fabrication and/or CAD.
  • Solidworks certification is a plus.
  • Keen interest in new design and product prototyping and experience of validating designs and concepts.
  • Experience of working with fabrication suppliers and familiarity with CAD libraries.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality systems and procedures within production areas.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Generating approval drawings.
  • Generating fabrication files.
  • Assisting in custom builds.
  • Updating stock component models and drawings.
  • Proof checking designs for fabrication.
  • Assisting with new product design and prototyping.

Supporting the Engineering Team to:

  • Ensure in-house assembly and build of systems go smoothly.
  • Follow products through to completion with QC and Technical files.
  • Coordinate with fabrication suppliers on aspects of the fabrication design.
  • Increase productivity.
  • Assist Custom Build Projects.
  • Liaise with Sales/Customer Support/Engineering and Customers on custom projects.
  • Manage Specifications, Costs and Timelines on Custom Build projects.
  • Assist in creation of BOMs and sourcing of components and services.
