C.R. Jackson is hiring a Motor Grader Operator (CMRB Crew) to support our cement stabilization and roadway reclamation operations in Darlington, SC. In this role, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our teams expect. You’ll work alongside a supportive team that values safety, accountability, and doing the job right.
What You’ll Do
- Perform grading and shaping of reclaimed roadway materials during CMRB operations
- Operate a Motor Grader to establish proper grade, slope, and drainage on stabilization projects
- Work closely with reclaimers, tanker drivers, and rollers to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
- Assist crew members and supervisors to keep operations running efficiently
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
- Communicate respectfully and work together to keep operations running safely and efficiently
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience operating a Motor Grader in roadway construction or soil stabilization (CMRB experience preferred)
- Understanding of grading for base preparation, compaction, and drainage
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, or weekends if required
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE
- Must pass pre‑employment background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials when required (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment safely
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including dusty and high‑traffic environments
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and equipment for safety
