Job Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Technician to join our Technical team, based in Glasgow. You will be reporting to the Technical Director, this is a core role within the team, acting as a central point of contact for planning systems, as well as overseeing invoice tracking and document management systems to ensure a consistent and reliable approach. The primary purpose of the role is to provide architectural support and technical guidance to both office-based and site-based operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare working drawings and provide detailed information for site operations, including managing design details for bespoke units.
- Resolve and monitor site queries to support progress and product development.
- Coordinate and manage specialist suppliers, integrating their requirements into working drawing packages.
- Produce or procure architectural detailing for non-standard elements.
- Obtain Building Regulation approvals.
- Procure landscaping surveys, designs, and management plans.
- Produce information to support legal and sales teams (e.g., deed plans).
- Act as a key contact for planning systems, ensuring accurate submissions and tracking.
- Manage document control systems and invoice tracking processes.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work.
- Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and sustainability standards and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical role within a new-build residential environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Collaborative mind set, with experience supporting operational teams and building strong working relationships.
- Passion for house building and delivering high-quality outcomes.
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
- Professional registration (e.g., ARB or CIAT/ACIAT) is desirable but not essential.
