We are working with a well regarded Main Contractor who are looking for experienced Project Manager/Senior Site Manager for a large heritage renovation in Edinburgh. This is a large and complex undertaking involving the refurbishment and repurposing of a historically significant building. The project will run for multiple years offering long term stability and the chance to deliver a genuinely landmark scheme.

The business is an established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex commercial and heritage projects. They are known for their structured approach, high quality delivery and strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

The Role

You will take full responsibility for the management and delivery of this significant heritage project from pre-construction through to completion and handover. This is a client facing role requiring strong leadership, planning and coordination skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the project programme and key milestones
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors and consultants
  • Acting as the main point of contact for the client and design team
  • Overseeing quality assurance particularly in relation to heritage elements
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance across all stages of the project
  • Managing risk, change control and coordination with the commercial team
  • Driving the project to a successful completion in line with programme and budget

About You

  • Proven experience delivering large fit out/renovation projects
  • Background working for a main contractor on complex builds
  • Strong understanding of refurbishment and heritage construction challenges
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident managing long term programmes and multidisciplinary teams
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
