Our client are a small, dynamic, and design-focused housebuilder, dedicated to crafting award-winning high-quality, sustainable homes across central Scotland. They are seeking a talented and pragmatic Architectural Technician to join their close-knit team. This is a hands‑on role perfect for an individual who thrives in an all‑encompassing environment and wants to see projects through from initial concept to final construction. You will be instrumental in translating the architectural designs into precise, buildable technical documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant Scottish building regulations and standards.

Key Requirements of the Role

  • Technical Documentation: Produce detailed working drawings, construction details, and specifications using CAD software (experience with AutoCAD or similar is essential).
  • Building Regulations: Prepare and submit planning and building warrant applications to the relevant local authorities, ensuring full compliance with Scottish legislation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the directors, external consultants (engineers, quantity surveyors), and on‑site construction teams.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical and design issues during both the design and construction phases.
  • Site Support: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, answer technical queries, and ensure adherence to specifications.

You Will Need

  • Experience: Proven experience as an Architectural Technician, ideally within the residential sector or for a housebuilder.
  • Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Scottish planning system and the Scottish Building Standards is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
