ABOUT US
Complete Metering Services (CMS) was established in 2018 in the South West of the UK and has since grown to employ engineers across Scotland, England, and Wales. We specialise in delivering domestic and commercial metering services to an expanding client base nationwide, with a strong focus on safety, our people, and exceptional customer service. In 2022, CMS was acquired by Conexus Recovery & Field Services, enhancing their capability to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end services to clients, including all metering activities.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking experienced Electric Engineers to perform installations on the OVO contract on a transient basis across the Highlands and Islands in Scotland covering IV, KW, PA, and PH postcodes. This role requires working away from home Monday to Friday and includes responsibilities such as completing complex off-peak electric meter exchanges, removing Radio Teleswitch devices, and converting Total Heat Total Control (THTC) systems to Economy 7 using five-port meters. The position requires advanced technical expertise in electrical systems and a strong commitment to providing safe and efficient energy solutions for our customers. There are also opportunities for Engineers to work away for a number of weeks at a time and work on the weekends too (day rate would apply to weekend working too). There are also opportunities to complete emergency jobs out of hours on a price per job basis.
THE PACKAGE
The position offers a competitive daily rate of £350, reflecting the level of expertise and responsibility required for this role. This rate is designed to attract highly skilled professionals with the technical knowledge and experience needed to deliver exceptional service and ensure the successful completion of complex metering tasks.
- £350 daily rate for an 8-hour workday (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break). Flexibility is essential, as some days may require slightly longer hours but this will balance out across the week.
- Two week paid induction training in Bolton - £100 per day plus accommodation paid.
- Accommodation (and ferries where necessary)
- Weekly pay (two weeks in arrears)
- Full branded uniform
- Stock, consumables and logistics
- Phone and Handheld device for completion of work
YOU PROVIDE
- Van, insurance and fuel
- Tools and PPE
- Public liability insurance - £2m
QUALIFICATIONS
You must have a minimum of two years of experience installing single or three phase electric meters within the UK - this is essential.
IMPORTANT
Please apply only if you are interested in a self-employed, transient role and can meet all the requirements listed above. This position requires a commitment to traveling to the North of Scotland each week. Ideally, engineers should be based in South Scotland or the North of England for the most practical travel arrangements but if you are prepared to stay away for multiple weeks at a time and work on the weekends then candidates from further afield will be considered.
