Location: Avonmouth, Bristol

The role is to assist the Lead Driller with the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs during ground investigation works. The role involves supporting drilling operations, handling equipment, maintaining site safety, and ensuring samples are collected and stored correctly.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Lead Driller with the setup, operation, and dismantling of drilling rigs.
  • Handle and prepare drilling tools, rods, casings, and sampling equipment.
  • Support cable percussion and rotary drilling operations.
  • Assist with the recovery and handling of soil and rock samples (e.g., U100, SPT, core samples).
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area around the drilling rig.
  • Help with loading and unloading equipment and materials.
  • Assist with backfilling boreholes (e.g., bentonite pellets or grout).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and site regulations.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of drilling equipment.
  • Follow instructions from the Lead Driller and Site Supervisor.
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in this role would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • Flexibility to work in varying locations around the UK.
  • Would suit someone used to working outside in all weather.
Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary - £29,741.40 per annum.
