As part of our C-Change in Action programme, C-Change West London is recruiting two Project Managers (Outreach Community Engagement) to lead grassroots community and youth engagement across Hounslow and Hillingdon. This role is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (Reaching Communities Programme) and focuses on connecting residents, young people, and local partners to build stronger, more inclusive neighbourhoods.
You will co-design and deliver youth- and community-focused projects that bring people together, build confidence, and open up pathways to volunteering, leadership, and employment. This is a hands-on role with a strong youth focus (ages 15–25), including young people who are NEET, home-educated, excluded from mainstream education, young carers, or facing mental health and social barriers. Evening and weekend delivery is essential.
You will also lead multiple projects, line manage junior staff and sessional workers, and work closely with partners across both boroughs.
Key responsibilities- Community engagement & outreach
- Lead grassroots outreach through schools, faith settings, youth spaces, community groups, and local events
- Build trusted relationships with young people, families, and underrepresented communities
- Identify local priorities and opportunities to reduce isolation and build pride
- Deliver and co-design youth and community projects (evenings/weekends/holidays)
- Support residents and young people to lead social action, creative, and wellbeing activities
- Coordinate events, volunteering initiatives, and sustainable resident-led activities
- Capture impact through film, podcasts, and case studies
- Mentor participants through CCWL's pathway: Participation → Volunteering → Leadership → Employment
- Support access to education, apprenticeships, and jobs
- Build confidence, skills, and resilience
- Work with local authorities, schools, GP networks, colleges, universities, businesses, and VCS partners
- Represent CCWL at forums, meetings, and events
- Line manage staff, volunteers, and freelancers
- Track engagement, outcomes, and progression
- Contribute to reports for funders, trustees, and partners
- Uphold safeguarding, inclusion, and wellbeing standards

- Experience delivering community or youth projects
- Experience working with young people facing disadvantage
- Strong facilitation, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to engage diverse communities and build trust
- Confident using social media and digital content to promote impact
- Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or freelancers
- Willingness to work weekends and occasional evenings
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Lived experience of the communities or challenges supported
- Experience supporting NEET young people
- Knowledge of youth progression pathways
- Familiarity with Hounslow and/or Hillingdon
- Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting
- Salary: £35,000
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Annual leave: 25 days + bank holidays
- Probation: 3 months
- Pension: Employer contribution included
- Base: HQ at Cranford Community College; role based in Hounslow or Hillingdon with cross-borough working
