This is a brilliant opportunity for a confident HR generalist with strong employee relations experience who enjoys working commercially, building trusted relationships and providing practical, risk-aware HR advice.

The role will be approximately 80% focused on supporting an external member/client base of around 200 organisations, with 20% supporting internal HR activity. You will act as a trusted HR advisor, supporting clients with a broad range of people matters including employee relations, performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance, restructures, consultation processes, policy, process, documentation and employment-law-adjacent HR guidance. This is not a solicitor role, but a strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice is essential.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clear, practical HR advice to clients across a wide range of employee relations matters
  • Supporting clients with performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Advising on restructures, consultation processes and associated documentation
  • Drafting and reviewing HR policies, contracts, letters and process documents
  • Identifying employment relations, reputational and commercial risk, and providing pragmatic recommendations
  • Building trusted, responsive relationships with senior stakeholders and external clients
  • Collaborating with internal specialists to deliver joined-up client support
  • Supporting internal HR activity as required

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong HR advisory, senior HR advisory, HR consultant or HR manager experience
  • Excellent employee relations capability
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience advising multiple stakeholders, business areas, sites or clients
  • A calm, credible and highly client-facing style
  • The ability to translate HR complexity into clear, commercial and practical guidance
  • A process-minded approach, with confidence creating and improving HR documentation
  • CIPD qualification preferred

This role could suit someone coming from an outsourced HR, HR consultancy, professional services, SME, financial services or founder-led environment. It may also suit an in-house HR professional looking to move into a broader, more externally facing advisory role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, complex ER and meaningful client relationships.
