Head Gardener – a full time (part- time job share could be considered) and permanent position with a salary of £30,056 plus company van. You’ll be joining our well respected company on the Ilse of Wight and work with our talented teams in many amazing locations. As the head gardener you’ll be primarily gardening and also managing our garden maintenance rounds, customers and colleagues. You’ll have plenty of office back up and support.
Head Gardener Job Description
The head gardener’s main tasksare:
- Garden maintenance of various private and commercial gardens alongside managing colleagues and customers.
- Responsibility for managing the gardens and ensuring that all requisite tasks are completed to maintaining well-cared gardens.
- Managing general garden maintenance rounds.
- Responsible for a team which will carry out skilled and general gardening and maintenance work involved in all aspects of gardening. Your range of tasks includes managing your team for general garden maintenance, managing any planting and plant health and keeping the areas generally well maintained.
- Regular checks and assessments for maintenance, health and safety and liaising with office, ensuring jobs are performed as and when they are required.
- Work includes physically working on regular scheduled garden maintenance, projects and blitzes and some landscaping.
- Communication: building a positive relationship with customers, building their trust in the business and generating leads for further work with existing and new customers.
