This position helps provide and maintain facilities which give Church members places where they can worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Each Church facility that is built and/or maintained should 1) Provide a spiritual setting for members to worship, and 2) Present an image of reverence and dignity in the community.

Working under the direction of the Manager, carries out a variety of moderately complex architectural assignments, exercising considerable latitude and independent judgement in developing solutions and initiatives. Provides services in research, and design, for a variety of new and remodeled building types. Collects and analyzes technical data to determine project requirements and reviews specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and schedules. Prepares and maintains records and reports.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Area Architecture, Engineering and Construction Manager assist in the development and maintenance of the area meetinghouse designs, including drawings, specifications, design guidelines, project adaptation guidelines, quality assessment (QA) documents, baseline cost and property validation.
  • Works with the area staff to identify training needs and assist in developing a training plan for field personnel and external consultants and architects.
  • Provides validation and feedback through quality assessment (QA), Annual Plan reviews, capacity validations and field visits.
  • Assists with the development, implementation and support of area specific solutions.
  • Assists in Lease Build Out design and other Church facilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture.
  • Requires a professional license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience practicing architecture, construction or project management.
  • Understanding of project documentation and project management principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with ecclesiastical leaders, clients, management and staff.
  • Excellent writing, training and presentation skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Office, CAD systems. Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam and other presentation programs proficiency preferred.
  • Commitment to research and understanding of current industry best practices in technical aspects.
