The Preston Temple is looking for worthy temple recommend holders to perform custodial duties required to keep the temple, MTC, accommodation centre, and other buildings in a clean and orderly condition. This is a permanent, part-time - 20 hours/week, position. The Church offers a market-level compensation for a part-time position and additional health & retirement benefits.
Responsibilities- Cleans floors, walls, furniture and other building furnishings; moves furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment as needed.
- Routinely performs other duties such as dusting furniture, disposing of trash, cleaning of restaurants, cleaning grease traps, etc.
- Renovates and renews surfaces by using special equipment and products.
- Operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers, vacuums, and helps keep equipment in working condition.
- May clean fixtures and wood paneling from ladders or scaffolding; hang curtains or drapes from ladders; remove snow from sidewalks.
- Follows time schedule and prescribed methods.
- May assist in setting up meeting rooms for special meetings as requested.
- May assist in planting, weeding, removal of dead flowers, cleaning planted areas.
- May operate lawn-cutting equipment.
- Maintains good public relations.
- Reports problems to supervisor.
- Sees that assigned area is properly maintained to the established standard.
- May be assigned to help maintain the grounds.
- May be required to travel from building to building.
- Maintains assigned work areas in clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties and attends meetings as assigned.
- Requires general knowledge of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to operate equipment such as vacuums, etc.
- Basic understanding of hand tools used in making small repairs.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Readiness to work on assigned shifts from Monday-Saturday, including night.
