We’re partnering with a well-funded AI hardware startup building the next generation of infrastructure for AI inference. Backed by leading global investors and having raised over $200M, they’re rethinking how AI models are executed at scale, developing hardware and systems capable of delivering significantly higher performance and lower cost than today's GPU-based infrastructure. They’re now looking for exceptional Software Engineers to join their growing engineering team.

The role involves working at the intersection of software, systems and AI infrastructure, building the tooling, runtime and distributed systems that power next-generation AI compute. This is a highly technical role where you’ll collaborate with world-class engineers to solve complex performance, compiler, runtime and systems challenges.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building high-performance software for AI inference systems
  • Developing distributed systems and infrastructure for large-scale compute
  • Improving runtime performance, efficiency and scalability
  • Working across low-level systems, networking and performance optimisation
  • Building internal tooling, automation and developer infrastructure
  • Profiling, debugging and eliminating performance bottlenecks
  • Collaborating closely with hardware, compiler and machine learning engineers
  • Contributing to architecture and technical direction across core platform components

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Production experience with Python, Rust, C or C++
  • Experience building distributed systems, backend platforms or infrastructure
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong understanding of performance, concurrency and systems design
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, highly technical environment
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar (or equivalent experience)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with AI infrastructure or machine learning systems
  • Background in high-performance computing or performance optimisation
  • Competitive programming, Olympiad or systems research experience
